Job overview

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

RNAs provide care for people of all ages and from different backgrounds, culture and beliefs. They provide care for people who have mental, physical, cognitive and behavioural care needs, those living with dementia, the elderly and for the people at the end of their life. They will work in the context of continual change, challenging environments, different models of care delivery, shifting demographics, innovation and rapidly evolving technologies. 

Integral to their role is the ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of channels with a wide range of individuals, the public, health and social care professionals, maintaining the focus of communication on delivering and improving health and care services. They will work as a part of the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

· Complete established patient assessment tools. Comparing and analysing information

· Discuss options with patients within an identified within delegated clinic setting for example Teach intermittent catheterisation

· Insert indwelling urethral catheters; remove wound drains, simple wound dressings.

· Update electronic data bases

· Uphold discharge processes and pathways

· Preform Trial without catheter

· Urinary flow and post void residuals

· Venepuncture

· Bladder scanning

· Provide ISC / ISD advice/education/training

· The ability to chaperone for all urological procedures

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

· The role will require the post holder to deliver information and ensure care is expedited appropriately and independently through knowledge and experience

· The post holder will organise the logistics of planning and delivery of clinics; specifically: cost effective stock ordering for all clinic settings

· The post holder will be expected to perform clinical skills and extended tasks in accordance with National competency frameworks and departmental competency booklet
