Job overview
We are offering an opportunity for 2 x Band 5 NMC Registered Staff Nurses to join our Specialist Pelvic Health Team based at Longton Cottage Hospital on a permanent basis.
We are looking for Band 5 nurses who are committed to providing high standards of holistic care to our patients to join our busy, supportive & friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for highly skilled nurses looking for a new challenge within a speciality, managing patients with continence needs
We are a clinical treatment service delivering advice and treatment, via telephone clinics, face to face clinics and in patients own homes, enabling them to improve their quality of life around their continence needs.

The service operates Monday – Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) 09:00 – 17:00
Due to the nature of community working, ability to travel across the patch to provide care to patients is essential.
Main duties of the job
As a highly skilled NMC Registered Band 5 nurse you will work in collaboration with the muti-disciplinary team and colleagues to:
· Promote independence and support patient centred care planning.
· Provide care directly to patients on the caseload with complex bladder and/or bowel conditions
· Work autonomously, in line with your scope of practice, competence and policies.
· Handover patient information to the wider team, document patient information effectively.
· Escalation of patients needs as appropriate.
You will receive support into the role through induction, training and beyond. There will be opportunities for personal development and career progression if desired.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Diploma/Degree in Adult Nursing or equivalent.
- Registration with NMC.
Desirable criteria
- Relevant supporting experience of placements including surgical, medical, palliative care, urology, community nursing where managing continence has been part of the role.
- Working towards Mentorship MPFT Bowel dysfunction training – competencies completed MPFT Catheter Care training - competencies completed MPFT Bladder Scanning Training - competencies completed MPFT – Pelvic Floor assess ment training- competencies completed
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant experience/placements to the role including assessment and management of continence and wound care.
Desirable criteria
- Working in a multidisciplinary team
