Job overview
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
In relation to Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker roles, we are currently able to recruit successfully from the domestic labour market and have a sufficient pool of suitably qualified and appointable candidates. As a result, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. This position is kept under regular review and may change in the future should labour market conditions or service requirements alter.
If you are shortlisted for an interview for this role, you must bring evidence of the following qualifications:
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English.
If you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for you GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate
- A Full Care Certificate OR NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ’s from a regulated awarding body).
If you do not bring the above qualifications to your interview, then the interview will not proceed.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic Senior Clinical Support workers to join our dynamic and friendly teams and provide safe and supportive care to patients, relatives and their loved ones. In this post you would be responsible for providing fundamental elements of patient care as directed by the qualified nursing/midwifery team to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of dignified and respectful care, in accordance with their care plans. We are looking for people who are compassionate and feel passionately about providing a level of care they would wish for their family and friends.
The successful applicants will be based at Royal Stoke University Hospital . As provision of care is a 24 hours, 7 days a week career, you will be required to work shifts, including long days, late long days, twilights nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Taking Clinical Observations and Recording on Vitals/Paper
• Venepuncture
- Taking clinical observations
- Use of vital pac
• Glucose Monitoring
• Pregnancy Testing
• Urine Analysis (Strip)
• Taking Fecal Samples
• Carry out 12 lead ECG
• Observing patients for signs of agitation or distress (Clinical holding/Restraint)
• Wound Observation
• Simple Wound Dressing
• Removal of Peripheral Cannula
• Take Swabs (e.g. MRSA)
• Support and Assist New Staff- Buddy System/Care Certificate Supervisor
