MRI Imaging Department Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the MRI team at University Hospitals of North Midlands as an Imaging Department Assistant . The post will be based at Royal Stoke, but the post holder will be expected to work duties at County Hospital and any other UHNM MRI scanner locations including our CDC due to open in March 2026.
You must be experienced in health care and/or working with the public, and be able to provide excellent patient care to the broad mix of patients we see in MRI. Your caring and approachable manner will support our patients, some of whom can be very anxious or unwell.
You will be expected to have excellent computer and administrative skill , have a polite sympathetic telephone manner and a good attention to detail.
The role will include a proportion of weekend working.
Main duties of the job
When working clinically, your efficiency and organisational skills will help us to ensure we see our patients on time. You will be required to liaise with the radiographers, ward staff, porters and patients to ensure inpatients are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner, ready for their examination.
Duties include general patient care, initial safety screening for MRI, cannulation of patients, safe use of equipment and department cleanliness, data input and clerical duties. Excellent communication and positive telephone manner is essential.
Flexibility and reliability are required in order to contribute to the delivery of a first class service to all users
The department is open from 6.45am until 8pm, seven days a week, including Bank Holidays, and the successful applicant will be provided with full safety training and mentorship.
