Main duties of the job

This is an excellent job opportunity for an individual who wishes to enhance their skills in a busy department of efficiency, patient experience and strong work ethic. We pride ourselves on the breadth of our clinical workload and expertise, delivering a full range of MRI examinations; from advanced Neuro techniques through whole body and pelvic imaging, to the largest cardiac MR Service in our region as well as the mainstays of Neuro and Msk imaging, breast MRI and vascular work.

We were one of the first Trusts in the UK to scan both conditional and Non- conditional cardiac devices.

We operate a 7 day a week service,  7am-9pm rotating across two sites, and include an on call rota.

We are a friendly, dynamic  forward thinking and planning service.

The department has 2  Siemens Vida 3T scanners and 1 Siemens 1.5T Sola installed in 2019 with their replacement through MES in 2025,  all are equipped with the DRB acceleration  software.  As a further part of our replacement programme, the Valley Centre has 2 new Sola scanners installed,  both with  up to date software. We currently have a state of the art Siemen's Viato mobile scanner, providing our CDC service. The County Hospital site, has a Sola and Skyra Siemen's scanner, which are to be replaced in 2025.

We are currently have a business case for a further scanner as part of our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). This is well underway and goes live in 2025. This would take the UHNM MRI service to 9 MRI scanners in total.
