Job overview
UHNM are looking for a Specialty Doctor in Oral/Maxillo-facial. The successful candidate will work closely with the Oral/Maxillo-facial Consultants who provide a first class service. The Oral/Maxillo-facial team undertake both surgical and clinical work following the surge of clinical activity and support the reduction of the backlog following the Covid-19 pandemic. Work will be based at both the Royal Stoke and County Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
To provide an exceptional level of care for our patients presenting with Oral/Maxillo-facial problems in an outpatient and theatre environment. The appointee will join the existing Oral/Maxillo-facial medical team to:
• Support a comprehensive outpatient service within Oral/Maxillo-facial
• Treat patients with Oral/Maxillo-facial conditions
• Continue clinical responsibility for patients in your charge
• Work with colleagues in other professions and support inter-disciplinary work
• Triage of patients and safely discharge patients, when appropriate
The job plan will be agreed with the successful candidates and will be based on a 10 PA working week.
The appointed candidate would be expected to engage with the Oral/Maxillo-facial Department delivery.
Scheduling of sessions is by mutual agreement. Opportunities exist for flexible working, extended working day and expanding weekend working.
Any applicant who is unable, for personal reasons, to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GDC Registration Entry onto the GDC Specialist
Desirable criteria
- Other higher degree (PhD, Masters, BSc)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Completed at least 5 years full time postgraduate training (or equivalent gained on part time basis) or have equivalent experience and competencies.
Desirable criteria
- Middle-Grade On-call experience
- Maxillo-facial operative Trauma experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in Oral/Maxillo-facial

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
