Job overview

The Radiotherapy Dosimetry Service (RDS) at University Hospitals of North Midlands is seeking a dedicated and proactive Radiotherapy Dosimetry Navigator to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients experience a smooth and timely journey through the radiotherapy planning process.

As the Radiotherapy Dosimetry Navigator, you will oversee every step of the patient’s progression—from the initial referral and CT scan through to treatment planning. You will ensure that all required radiotherapy scans are  readily available for planning, coordinating closely with clinical teams to avoid any delays in treatment.

We are looking for a proactive, creative thinker who enjoys problem solving to join our dosimetry team as our Navigator. This is a varied role that brings great job satisfaction.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be expected to

  • Serve as the primary coordinator between clinical teams to streamline patient care and maintain a seamless flow of treatment planning process.
  • Manage all aspects of the patient pathway, from Referral and CT scan to  completion of the treatment planning process.
  • Proactively identify and resolve any emerging issues or delays in the patient journey.
  • Collaborate closely with the Dosimetry team, Medical Physics, Clinical Oncologists, Radiotherapy Radiographers, and Schedulers to ensure optimal care delivery.
  • Facilitate efficient administrative processes to ensure the smooth running of the patient journey.
