Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Spinal Deformity Service for a band 7 lead Spinal Deformity Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities for the post holder include:
- Supporting both adult and paediatric patients through spinal deformity surgery
- Pre-assessment of paediatric spinal deformity patients and ensuring pre-optimisation for surgery to ensure the best outcome.
- Nurse-led clinics including telephone clinics
- Orthotic brace clinics
- Providing specialist education to nurses and allied healthcare professionals involved with the care of spinal deformity patients
- Contributing to and provide specialist nursing input to MDT meetings including discussions about patients with complex medical / care needs

Person specification
Knowledge, skills, training and experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 3 years post registration experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role
- Speciality knowledge relating to spinal deformity
- Experience of working with both adults and children
- Physical / health assessment
Desirable criteria
- Non-medical prescribing
Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- Current nursing registration with the NMC
- Degree or evidence of degree level study
- Mentorship course or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Adult and Paediatric trained nurse
- Evidence of Masters / level 7 study

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
