* Are you looking for a new challenge? * Are you looking to work in a fast paced team? If you answered yes, then this role could be for you! An exciting opportunity has arisen with in our Urology secretarial department. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to support the Medical Secretarial Team in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service, outline new and efficient processes and inpatient and outpatient waiting list management for our speciality, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy. You will be required to communicate appointments and admission related information to patients and carers along with answering queries both verbally and written, and typing correspondence within performance targets as appropriate, and supporting in the delivery of the local and national NHS targets. 

This would be an ideal opportunity for anyone who has clerical experience of working in the NHS, but this is not essential as full training will be given to the successful candidate.

The ideal candidate will need to:

o Have excellent communication skills.
o Be organised.
o Be able to prioritise their own workload effectively
o Use their own initiative.
o Be prepared to work within a busy and challenging (but rewarding) environment.

  • Educated to NVQ Level 2, OCR 2 or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office package

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with situations in a sensitive manner
