As we prepare to officially launch our brand-new Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) in Hanley, S-O-T, UHNM’s Imaging Department is excited to welcome enthusiastic and motivated Imaging Department Assistants to join our expanding Community X-ray team. Roles are available on a full-time, part-time, or flexible basis.

In this vital support role, you’ll work alongside Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners at the new CDC and across our four existing community sites. The team operates seven X-ray rooms across five locations in North Staffordshire, including:

  • Haywood Hospital
  • Leek Moorlands Hospital
  • Longton Cottage Hospital
  • Cobridge Health Centre
  • Hanley CDC

You’ll be part of a rotational team, delivering high-quality care across all sites.

We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about patient-centred care, excellent communicators, and adaptable team players ready to make a difference in a dynamic, multi-site environment.

Main duties of the job

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role with a wide variety of responsibilities—including data entry, front desk duties, direct patient care, supporting Diagnostic Radiographers, managing clinical stock, and keeping our departments spotless and well-organised.

To apply, you’ll need experience working in a caring environment and hold at least five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above—including Maths and English.

Essential criteria
  • Minimum 5 GCSE's or equivalent vocational course, to include English grade C/4 or above
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ2 or 3 in Care
  • Evidence of personal development

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in a patient /client facing caring envirement / role
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a NHS clinical role
  • Experience of working within a imaging department in a clinical role

Skills Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate, familiar with microsoft packages and able to undertake accurate data entry
  • Ability to organise prioritise
  • Attention to detail
Desirable criteria
  • Working knowledge of raditaion information systems
