We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to join our friendly admin team within Community Musculoskeletal (MSK) Services based in Tamworth and Lichfield.
Our team are integral to the effectiveness of the service and work in a busy environment with constant demand for appointments and supporting our clinical staff but you will be working with a great team of people who will support you along the way.
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the MSK Lichfield and Tamworth and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including telephone, email and face to face. You will be highly organised with the ability to follow processes and procedures, manage your own time, keeping to schedule and deadlines and be able to work well as part of a dynamic team.
The role is for 18 hours per week. Tues 1pm-4.30pm, Wed 10am-4.30pm, Thu 12.30pm-4.30pm, Fri 8am-12.30pm.
Based at Sir Robert Peel Hospital, Tamworth. There may be occasional travel to our site in Lichfield for the purpose of staff meetings.
Main duties of the job
As Administrative Assistant, you will have good organisational skills, be willing to take on/learn new skills and have the ability to show attention to details and accuracy.
As part of this role, you will:
- Take calls, booking patient appointments & dealing with queries from patients, relatives, staff and other agencies.
- Updating clinical systems
- Supporting with waiting list management
- Stock management and equipment ordering.
- Support clinical services including scanning, filing, photocopying, creating and sending clinic letters and supporting projects and audits as required.
- Use of electronic patient records system for booking patients & use of Office 365 packages.
- Be part of the wider administration team in MSK Tamworth & Lichfield.
- Actively contribute to service improvement and be involved in patient engagement.

- Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent

- Experience of tactfully and efficiently dealing with a variety of internal and external professionals and clients/patients ensuring their needs are met
