The Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service is a new and developing service that works with people and their families within their local communities, providing specialist assessment, treatment and support to stabilise people’s symptoms and help them gain/regain their skills and confidence to live successfully in the community – adopting a team approach to care delivery.

Evidence shows that an intensive community treatment approach achieves positive results in recovery for service users with complex severe and enduring mental illness.

The service has strong working relationships with other services both internally and externally, and is co-located with other mental health teams. We promote regular CPD opportunities both internally and externally.

The Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service is looking to recruit a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist who:

·       Has experience working with people with complex severe and enduring mental illnesses (i.e. complex psychosis)

·       Able to manage a caseload autonomously, delivering psychological assessment and intervention under guidance and supervision from a Clinical Psychologist

·       Is passionate about supporting individuals to achieve their full potential and maximise their quality of life

·       Is caring and compassionate

·       Is self-motivated and able to motivate others

·       Is a team player, as well as being able to work autonomously

Main duties of the job

·       Under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist and other team members, you will assist in the formulation and delivery of psychological assessments and interventions

·       Assist in the co-ordination and delivery of therapeutic group work

·       You will be a caring and compassionate individual who has a passion for supporting individuals with complex mental health needs to work towards their personal recovery goals, whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team.

·       You will be involved in the review of risk, and formulation of person-centred care plans

·       You will ensure that your own actions support the equality, diversity, rights and responsibilities of individuals and promote independence.

·       You will work within agreed and established Trust policy and operational procedures at all times.
