We’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic Business Support Officer to join our People Transformation & Development team on a 10-month maternity cover basis. This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team that plays a key role in shaping the experience of colleagues across the Trust.

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll provide high-quality administrative and coordination support across a wide range of people-focused initiatives, including leadership development, staff wellbeing, engagement, and talent management. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, helping to ensure our programmes and events run smoothly while also being a friendly and helpful point of contact for queries.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have strong organisational skills, and are passionate about supporting people and making a positive difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

As a Business Support Officer, you’ll play an important role in supporting the delivery of our People Transformation & Development priorities. Your day-to-day work will be varied and collaborative, giving you the chance to get involved in a wide range of activities.

You will:

  • Provide a professional and responsive administrative service, supporting colleagues and managers with queries related to development, engagement, and people initiatives
  • Help coordinate and deliver a range of events and programmes, including booking venues, managing attendance, preparing materials, and supporting both face-to-face and virtual sessions
  • Act as a key point of contact for the team, managing shared inboxes and ensuring enquiries are handled efficiently and helpfully
  • Support the promotion of initiatives by helping to create and share engaging communications across the organisation
  • Assist with surveys, reporting, and basic data analysis to help evaluate the impact of programmes and inform future improvements
  • Maintain accurate records and support the smooth running of systems and processes linked to learning, development, and engagement activities
  • Work closely with colleagues across the People Directorate and wider organisation to ensure a consistent and positive experience for staff

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being organised, takes pride in delivering great service, and likes working as part of a team to make things happen.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This role provides essential business support to the People Transformation & Development function, helping to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of a wide range of people-focused initiatives across the Trust.

You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality administrative and coordination service, supporting programmes linked to organisational development, leadership, talent management, staff wellbeing, engagement, and retention. This includes responding to queries from managers and colleagues, managing shared inboxes, and ensuring timely and helpful communication across the organisation.

A key part of the role involves coordinating and supporting events and programmes. This will involve producing reports and carrying out basic analysis to identify themes and support continuous improvement. You will also help maintain and update intranet content and contribute to the development of toolkits, resources, and guidance materials to support consistent practice across the Trust.
