University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. 1 x 27.5 hour post  - positioned at Leighton Hospital. Support is required on an occasional basis at Leighton Hospital, VIN and surrounding clinics, which include Knutsford Community Hospital and Congleton War Memorial Hospital.

Working hours are Monday - Friday – 08.30 – 14.00 each day. You will be asked to cover 2 weekend shifts per month and this will result in your hours being adjusted for the weekday shifts as an off duty day that month.

 

The aim of the advert is to seek a candidate to appoint these hours to.

The candidates must have Full UK driving licence and have the use of a car for travel. This is an essential aspect of this role, and if this can’t be met – candidates need not apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is required for the collection of venous blood samples for pathological analysis.

The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a team when required.

They will be asked to liaise with other health care professionals, clinicians, laboratory staff, patients and/or their representatives, both in person and over the telephone.

The role involves handling biological samples that may contain pathogenic micro-organisms; therefore, ensuring that all procedures are adhered to when undertaking blood sampling according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and the policies and procedures of the department, especially in relation to Health & Safety and Quality.

The post holder must be able to support the department in multiple venues, when required

JOB OVERVIEW

 

The University Hospital of North Midlands, Mid Cheshire and East Cheshire NHS Trusts are working collaboratively to form a Pathology network in line with a NHSI directive.

 

Cheshire Phlebotomy Services - 7 day working pattern Monday-Sunday

Including:  EARLY MORINING STARTS 08:00 / standard shift starts at 8:30

Ward cover start time 07:30

EVENINGS 14.00-20.00.

WEEKENDS AND BANK HOLIDAY COVER: 7.30-14.00

 

BAND 2   £22,383 pro rata. Hourly rate £12.64  Post  - 27.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 08.30 - 14.00

Base site is: MCHT Leighton Hospital 

Our services also cover and include -   Leighton Hospital & VIN  (including GP localities – direct access) Knutsford Community Hospital + CWMH

CDC is positioned at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich

 

Cheshire phlebotomy services (CPS) provide phlebotomy services at multiple venues including Leighton Hospital, Macclesfield District General Hospital, Knutsford Community Hospital, Congleton war memorial hospital, Victoria Infirmary Northwich, and all Direct Access Localities.

The successful applicant will be asked to cover at all service locations, should the business require it.

 

Current position available is:
