Operational Support for the Tele-Dermatology community Service

Job overview

To work closely with the Community photographers and the Lead Consultant to ensure that the tele dermatology service runs smoothly.

The post holder will be expected to run their own tele-dermatology photography clinics and to provide supervision and managerial over site of the other photographers and the administration support staff.  

Main duties of the job

  • To work clinically with the community tele dermatology service,
  • To demonstrate and understanding the need for clear photography’s of the lesions, both at a distance and close up, including the need to be some size and position.
  • To use a dermatoscope attachment on the iphone for the take close up photography’s of lesions, to enable clinical assessment and diagnosis.
  • To demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills through the ability to give basic information about the tele dermatology process that enables and supports the patient to understand the process. Modifying these communication skills to the individua
  • Ensures that the patient understands the consent issues
  • Ability to intrepret and assess the patient against the inclusion criteria/protocols for telederm service
  • Liaises directly with clinical staff to clarify any related photographic requirements
  • Ensure safe practice to minimize infection risk to patients

Education & Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Degree Level or equivalent training or experience.
  • Holds Business Administration related qualification or willingness to undertake
Desirable criteria
  • A Levels and working towards a degree
  • Teaching/Training qualification

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working across a wide range of managing projects along with their administrative procedures
  • Good knowledge of an IT clinical systems environment, a range of computerised software including Excel and Power Point
  • Experience of managing change and associated behaviours
  • Experience of training delivery
  • Experience of implementing and delivering e-learning
  • Experience of facilitating groups
  • Experience of working within a tele-dermatology service

  • NHS experience, including working with clinical staff
