Staff Nurse - Endoscopy Unit

Band 5

Job overview

Band 5 Staff Nurse – Endoscopy Unit (Heatherwood Hospital)

At Frimley Health, our goal is to provide the highest quality care, and we are committed to supporting our staff in developing their skills and knowledge. We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our dedicated Endoscopy team at Heatherwood Hospital.

Our JAG-accredited Endoscopy service offers a full range of procedures for patients across Surrey, East Berkshire, and South Buckinghamshire. The unit features two modern, fully equipped procedure rooms and plays a key role in the Berkshire regional Bowel Cancer Screening Service, which has been running successfully since 2008. Operating seven days a week (8 AM – 6 PM), we are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.

We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious, and enthusiastic nurse to help drive the continued development of our service. The successful candidate will receive full training in assisting with a wide variety of endoscopy procedures and gain exposure to endoscopy units across our three sites.

If you are a forward-thinking nurse who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to embrace change, we’d love to hear from you! No prior endoscopy experience is required, but a background in the field would be an advantage.

Join us and be part of a team that makes a real difference in patient care.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in Endoscopy,  working closely with your allocated mentor and supported by senior staff.  This will enable you to work in all aspects of the endoscopy pathway. You will also receive training and support on the EPIC system which is paperless based.

We support flexible working and applicants are invited to discuss options around this to enable you to balance work with personal commitments.

Working for our organisation

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is committed to being an inclusive and disability confident employer and has been awarded the Gold for the Armed Forces Employment Recognition Scheme. Here at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, we know how important it is to have a healthy work life balance; this benefits not only individuals but the patients we care for too.

We encourage applications from people who wish to work on a flexible basis, recognising that flexibility may mean a range of different working patterns and hours, we do our utmost to work with our staff to meet their needs and the needs of our service and its users.
