Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Maternity cover for a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated registered ODP or RGN with post registration Anaesthetic qualification, who have a wide range of clinical skills, to work within our theatres. So, whether you are an experienced practitioner or a recently qualified ODP we would love to hear from you.

We are a friendly team with a family feel. We balance hard working shifts with a busy trust wide social scene which includes trips to the coast, theatres, and Christmas markets to name a few.

The vacancy is to work within the anaesthetic support team,  however we do positively encourage practitioners who would like the opportunity to dual role either in Scrub or PACU, as we appreciate the value of keeping multi skilled.

Happy to hear from practitioners who have recently qualified.

Main duties of the job

Using your anaesthetic qualification you will be a key member of the peri-operative team ensuring that the patient receives excellent standards of care.

You will be confident in supporting the Anaesthetist and preparing a range of medical devices, communicating to the wider theatre team and putting the patient at the heart of everything that you do.

Those wishing to dual role or keep/gain your preferred skills in scrub or recovery we can try and facilitate this within our teams.

We now benefit from a state of the art, digital, fully  electronic patient record system that incorporates the entire patient journey.

You will be driven to ensure the standards of care you deliver are effective, current and evidenced-based and enjoy working with your team to ensure the smooth running of the department.

We are committed to the on-going professional development for our staff, we facilitate a  mandatory preceptorship programme for newly qualified staff. We offer support starting with your Induction process through to offering in-house and external courses, we promote multiskilling into scrub and/or recovery for practitioners who wish to do so. We have a dedicated practice development team along with supportive management to assist you in growing your career.
