Job overview

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our community Children's Physiotherapy team based at Green Wrythe Lane Clinic, Carshalton.

This role is 3 days (22.5 hours) per week working with children age 0-19 years with a variety of conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, developmental delay and genetic conditions.  The successful applicant would be working in variety of settings; including clinic, homes, schools and children's centres.

Main duties of the job

  • To work autonomously providing specialist Physiotherapy assessment, advice and treatment to children with a wide variety of conditions including Musculoskeletal, neurological, developmental delay and complex needs.

  • To travel to and work in a variety of settings including clinic, patients homes, nurseries/ schools and children centres. 

  • To work closely with the multidisciplinary team, families, school staff and the wider health team to plan and provide assessment and treatment.

  • To actively contribute to clinical audits and develop of the Physiotherapy Service, facilitating improving client/care pathways and outcomes for children in conjunction with professional lead and team leader.

  • To carry out continual professional development as identified through clinical supervision and PDR, including in-service training and courses as agreed.

  • To provide training and clinical supervision to more junior team members  in conjunction with Clinical Lead/ Team Leader.

Qualifications/ Training

Essential criteria
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
Desirable criteria
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Membership of the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists
  • Evidence of attendance to training in the area of Paediatric Physiotherapy

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post graduate experience covering core rotations
  • Experience in the use of relevant assessment and treatment approaches and practices, including the use of standardised assessments.
  • Evidence of effective multi-disciplinary and multi-agency work
Desirable criteria
  • Specialist knowledge / experience in paediatric physiotherapy
  • Experience of equipment prescription and principles and its application in the paediatric setting
  • Experience in setting up new projects / initiatives
  • Experience of delivering physiotherapy within a clinic and community setting
  • Experience in supervising junior staff / assistants / students

  • Knowledge of a variety of treatment modalities
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of basic audit and quality tools
