Job overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our Digital Team. This role is part of a Team who are responsible for undertaking application testing for digital applications and projects.

We are looking for individuals with good communication skills and a keen eye for detail.  The post holder will be required to work independently and within a team.  Knowledge of the systems already in use at the Trust such as Cerner (iCLIP Pro) is essential.

As an organisation, we have just gone live with a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. This is your chance to be part of the digital change, ensuring the safe and effective use of applications.

Main duties of the job

·             Act as a point of contact for staff from all parts of the organisation that need testing assistance or advice.

·             Work closely with change managers, operational managers and end-users to understand the workflow and expected functionality being developed.

·             Write comprehensive test scripts to fully verify the development system against product specifications and user expectations.

·             Interpret the often complex testing output to identify defects and functional omissions.

·             Document defects so that the issue can be reliably replicated.

·             Report defects to suppliers/developers so that the issue is understood and the expected solution is clear.

·             Ensure issues, especially those impacting patient safety, are escalated within the organisation.

·             Track supplier progress towards issue resolution for their individual tickets.

·             Trouble-shoot and undertake root cause analysis for user reported incidents/defects.

·             Develop, update, upgrade and introduce new testing scripts and scenarios as systems and use evolves.

·             Participate in audits and quality assurance processes.

·             Maintain a high level of awareness and specialist knowledge and expertise in IT systems testing.

·             Complete Ad-hoc testing based on issues and changes logged by end users at the trust.

·             Follow the Trust and ICT Policies, procedures and processes.
