Do you have experience of working within Orthopaedics, general Older Persons Rehab and some Neurological conditions and want to further your expertise within our Community Hospital setting? Are you looking for the next step in your career?
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic physiotherapist wanting to develop further rehabilitation skills. We offer excellent opportunities for training and development.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a high standard physiotherapy service in assessing and treating patients who may have a complex presentation.
- To supervise and teach recently qualified physiotherapists/technicians/assistants and students and be involved in teaching MDT staff.
- To participate in CPD and other departmental activities.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality physiotherapy services, assessing and treating patients, including those with complex needs, using evidence-based practice.
- Undertake comprehensive patient assessments, formulate individualised management and treatment plans, and implement a range of specialised interventions.
- Maintain professional and legal accountability for all aspects of clinical practice, including accurate patient documentation and adherence to professional guidelines.
- Demonstrate expertise in clinical governance and risk management, ensuring that treatment plans are supported by current evidence.
- Utilise advanced manual techniques and therapeutic handling, often requiring moderate physical effort.
- Stay abreast of developments within the speciality, analyse current research, and implement changes in clinical practice.
- Safely use and ensure the maintenance of physiotherapy equipment, adhering to departmental policies

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- HCPC Registration
- Physiotherapy Degree
- Evidence of recent study in relevant clinical area.
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of Clinical Educator Course
- Member of specialist interest group
- Evidence of some managerial training.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Computer literacy
- Evidence of good clinical reasoning
- Evidence of teamwork
- Able to work under pressure
- Organisational skills
- Supervisory and appraisal skills.
Desirable criteria
- Facilitation skills
- Teaching skills
Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of Band 5 rotations including orthopaedics rotation
- Evidence of providing teaching or presentation
- Evidence of supervision of unregistered staff and students
- Understanding of working in NHS
- Strong Experience of MDT working
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of service development project or research
- Evidence at a Band 6 level
