This job overview is for a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist or Allied Health Professional (AHP) specializing in respiratory care. 

Role Summary:

• Deliver specialist respiratory patient-centered care.

• Work within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including Respiratory Consultants, Physiotherapists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, HCAs, and Therapy Support Workers.

• Collaborate with external professionals such as GPs, Urgent Care Teams, Community Nurses, and Palliative Care Specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist respiratory interventions.

• Support the MDT in assessing patients and developing holistic management plans.

• Assess patients with a variety of respiratory conditions, including complex physical and psychological needs.

• Develop and deliver individualized treatment programs.

• Understand and manage multiple lung conditions, such as COPD, Bronchiectasis, Interstitial Lung Disease, Asthma, and Oxygen therapy.

• Stay aware of local and national guidelines related to these conditions.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will provide specialist respiratory intervention, as well as supporting the multidisciplinary team in assessment and development of a holistic management plan. You will be expected to perform assessment of respiratory patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions. You will understand the assessment and management of multiple respiratory conditions and be aware of local and national guidelines for COPD, Bronchiectasis, Interstitial Lung Disease, Asthma and Oxygen.

The role is a predominantly Monday – Friday with the hours being 9-5, although there is a longer term plan to provide a 7 day service.
The role is available in Frimley Health; based in Farnham Community Hospital covering North-East Hampshire and Farnham and Surrey Heath.
