We are seeking a Consultant Dermatologist to deliver high-quality care across our sites.  This is a full-time role (10 PAs).

Main duties of the job

The dermatological work-load involves the treatment of both civilian and military patients.  Clinics are held across our various satellite sites including Aldershot Centre for Health, Farnham Hospital, Fleet Hospital, Frimley Hospital and Heatherwood Hospital.

The main duties of the post constitute general dermatology clinics, outpatient skin surgery, patch testing, ward referrals and with a view to supporting paediatric dermatology, contact dermatitis and psoriasis.  The post holder will be expected to see new patients as well as treating patients from the waiting list.  Sessions will be a mixture of fixed and flexible.

We provide first class development opportunities for all staff and have a wide range of professional, management and leadership, and clinical skills training available.

Here at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, we know how important it is to have a healthy work life balance; this benefits not only individuals but the patients we care for too.

We encourage applications from people who wish to work on a flexible basis, recognising that flexibility may mean a range of different working patterns and hours, we do our utmost to work with our staff to meet their needs and the needs of our service and its users.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

A half day per month is dedicated to medical audit and teaching.  This is hospital policy and all staff – medical, physiotherapists and outpatient staff are expected to attend.  There is also a directorate meeting held during this period, in which dermatology is part of an Outpatient Focus Group which reports to the Medical Directorate.

There is a regular Dermatology Departmental Team Meeting, comprising representatives of the nursing staff and managers, pharmacists etc. where all aspects of care for dermatology patients are discussed.

The Skin Cancer Network and MDTs need to be attended.

The Division of Medicine expects CPD to be maintained.

The post does not come with on-call commitments; however advice to wards/ED may be required.
