Job overview
Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Quality Improvement fellow in Frimley Emergency Department. The role is 75% clinical and 25% non-clinical. We are looking for doctors to start August 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity for doctors to maintain clinical work but also have time in their schedules dedicated to areas of interest to them. We see this as a way of sustainable working whilst also building on CVs and experience.

Study leave: 18 days (10 days general study leave, 5 days private study leave, 3 days for exams or interviews). Study budget: £650 per year.
The emergency medicine rota will include evening, night, weekend and bank holiday working. LTFT enquiries are welcome.
Applicants must have a minimum of 24 months experience working as a doctor in the NHS. This advert is open to ST1/2 and ST3+ applicants.
Main duties of the job
- To attend courses to upskill QI methodolody
- To take part in QI projects within the ED
- To lead on a RCEM QI project
- To engage and inspire others to get involved in QI and support their projects
- To organise and/or deliver teaching on QI
- To liaise with the clinical audit and QI officer for ED
- To engage with the Frimley Excellence team who oversee QI for the Trust
- To be involved in QI work relating to national guidelines
- To liaise with other specialties when their audit or QIP relates to ED
- To attend the 4-monthly ED QI presentation mornings and present your work
- To disseminate the department’s QI work and maintain the department’s QI area within MS Teams
- To attend the trust clinical effectiveness and audit committee meetings (CEAC) and the Trust and KSS research meetings
- To submit work for publication and to conferences
- To work with the other ED fellows to expand your experience and support each other’s projects

- 2 years experience in the NHS
- Clinical experience relevant to emergency medicine
- Evidence of interest in, and commitment to the type of fellowship they would like to apply for
- Project work which demonstrates motivation, initiative and the ability to see projects through
