Job overview
Are you an Emergency nurse looking for a new challenge?
We are looking for enthusiastic, forward thinking and highly motivated Band 6 nurses to join our team in the Emergency Department at Frimley Park. In this role you must be passionate about working in a caring environment with patients and be committed to delivering high quality patient care. You will be able to use your clinical skills as well as taking part in the day to day management of the department.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Nurse, you will be expected to take charge of either the whole department with the support of the Manager or taking charge of an area of the department. You should be able to run your area with minimal supervision able to keep the flow of the department going, plan early for safe discharge, keeping the area safe and able to support junior staff.
You are also expected to be a link Nurse and support your team leader by managing your team members. To act in a multi–disciplinary role with emphasis upon liaising, operational decision making and team building. The post holder will have responsibility for the assessment of development, implementation and evaluation of care needs.

- Experience as Senior Band 5 in Emergency Care
- Experience in supervising a team in ED

- Shadow Nurse in charge role

- Efficient in time management and in prioritising workload effectively
- Allocate staff appropriately to create a safe and efficient skill mix
- Able to demonstrate communication skills both written and oral
- Management Skills
- Ability to analyse problems, to think laterally and implement effective solutions
- Able to clinically provide nursing care in all areas
- Ability to manage complex situations
