Pharmacy Technician Dispensary Training Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for GPhC‑registered Pharmacy Technicians to join our Education and Training team at Frimley Health.

This is a Band 5 post, designed for pharmacy technicians with hospital experience who have a passion for education and training, and who are motivated to train, mentor, coach, and support pharmacy staff and learners throughout their professional development journey.
 

You will be supported through a comprehensive in‑house training programme, including practice supervision training, supervisory and leadership training and medicines management competencies, to equip you with the skills needed to provide hands-on training and line management.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Provide excellent patient care for inpatients, outpatients and external units.
  • Work with the EPIC electronic prescribing system and Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets to deliver an accurate, timely and cost-effective pharmacy service.
  • Duties include accurate labelling, dispensing and checking of a wide range of prescriptions, including controlled drugs, clinical trials, TPN, chemotherapy, home IV therapies and palliative care medicines.
  • Medicines management rotations will offer direct patient contact, including taking medication histories, medicines reconciliation, supporting safe and correct use of prescribed medicines and counselling patients on new treatments.
  •  A competency unit will be provided for each area to ensure full training is completed and competence is demonstrated before independent working is expected.
  • Provide the education and training of all the above dispensary duties for our registered pharmacy staff and trainees. 
  • Be a Practice Supervisor and Educational Supervisor for level 2 and 3 pharmacy apprentices. 

You will need:

  • To be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council with hospital experience.
