Job overview

The successful candidate will be confident and competent at undertaking all aspects of Plain Imaging, being able to work in our busy Emergency Department, General X-Ray Department and Theatre, as well as performing Mobile Imaging on the wards and in theatre. 

Our hospital has been chosen by the Government for the 'New Hospital Programme' and so our whole department, and hospital, will be being revamped in the coming years. We also have an exciting new purpose built diagnostic scanning centre being built next year and hopefully our South Imaging CDC is also in the future - its a very exciting time to join Frimley Park Hospital!

Creating leaders and advancing our team is at the forefront of our departments strategy so we are looking for individuals who want to learn to be the future of radiography. Using our Trust values and our already established leadership team as mentors, we want to create and nurture future talent in both leadership and advanced practice.

Main duties of the job

  • To be an effective member of the Department of Radiology providing a high standard of radiographic imaging and patient care.
  • To supervise students working within the department.
  • To provide a high quality and efficient radiographic service in all areas of the department including A&E, General Radiography, Theatre & Mobile Ward, Radiography, Fluoroscopy.
  • To maintain the high standards of the department by contributing to individual and team objectives.
  • To participate in the departmental on-call and out of hours shift system.
  • To supervise undergraduate student radiographers and support delivery of the training programme and assessment.
