An exciting opportunity has arisen at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust for a motivated and well-organised individual to join our dynamic Research & Innovation (R&I) team. We are seeking a Research & Innovation Co-ordinator to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality clinical research and innovative projects that shape the future of patient care.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside both the Research Delivery and Research Governance teams, you will support the safe and effective setup, management and closure of a wide range of research studies. Your responsibilities will span administrative coordination, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

You will:

  • Support the setup, delivery and closure of commercial and non-commercial studies in line with ICH-GCP and the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research

  • Coordinate with investigators, local research teams, external organisations and industry sponsors

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using research platforms including EDGE

  • Assist with the collection and safe transport of participant samples

  • Support the processing of study amendments and ensure documentation is compliant with national standards

  • Monitor and address discrepancies in study-related financial data

  • Ensure the safety, dignity and well-being of all research participants at every stage

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. A strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to supporting safe, ethical research are essential.

Experience in a healthcare or research environment would be an advantage, though training will be provided for the right candidate with transferable skills.

Essential criteria
  • Foundation degree or NVQ level 3 in science or health care related area or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • Degree or equivalent in science or health care related area

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Administrative experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, Teams and OneDrive
Desirable criteria
  • Administrative experience providing support to clinical trials.
  • Specialist knowledge of the UK Policy Framework for Health & Social Care and ICH guidelines for Good Clinical Practice
  • Interest in Research principles, data collection and paperwork
  • Understanding of monitoring of clinical trials and ability to identify adherence to study protocols

Special Requirements

  • Ability to travel across FHFT main sites and satellite sites.
  • Willingness to acquire and develop additional skills and qualifications necessary to carry out the role.
  • Commitment to achieving the research and innovation objectives within the Trust and wider systems
