Healthcare Support Worker

Band 2

Job overview

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker role, on our inpatient wards.  This is a developmental role, open to people with or without previous care experience. What matters most is your compassion, values, and commitment to excellent patient care.

A role for everyone – whether you’re new to care or already experienced

No experience? You’re very welcome.

If you’re new to health or social care, you’ll start at Band 2 while you complete our structured development programme.
From your first day, you’ll receive:

  • Full training
  • Support from our clinical educators
  • A clear, achievable pathway to reach Band 3

Once you complete the Band 3 competency framework, you’ll progress into a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker role.

Already have care experience? You may progress faster.

If you already have Band 3 experience or completed competencies, you may:

  • Move through the development programme more quickly, depending on your evidence and experience.

To be considered for appointment at Band 3, you’ll need to provide:

  • Verified Band 3 Care Certificate competency documents
  • Evidence of relevant acute NHS experience and training
  • Employer/educator confirmation where required

All evidence will be reviewed by our recruitment and practice development teams.
