We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic band 4 to join our Clinical Governance Team.
The Clinical Governance Administrator is an integral role within the Maternity Clinical Governance Team. Working in a small team, you will work with the Clinical Governance Midwife, Patient Safety Midwife, Bereavement Specialist Midwives and Digital Midwives to ensure all women and newborn babies have results of screening tests, tracking referrals and any necessary follow up.

Main duties of the job
To act as the Clinical Governance Facilitator, providing clinical and administrative support for clinical governance activities within the women and children’s division. To support the quality and patient safety programmes in the operational delivery of clinical audit across the division. To support and facilitate clinical leads in ensuring clinical audits are effective, robust and generate learning to enable improvements in clinical care.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Alongside the Clinical Governance Lead Midwife, Patient Safety Midwife, Digital Midwife, Patient Experience Midwife and the midwifery/paediatric Practice Development Team, the Maternity Clinical Governance Facilitator will perform the necessary activities to support the Clinical Governance Programme within Women and Childen’s Division. In particular this will include administrative work required by clinical governance activities, such as production of the clinical governance newsletter and undertaking elements of the departmental audit programme.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 4 or 5 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- IT qualification or equivalent skills
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Able to perform a range of administrative procedures including patient facing communications
- Experience of working in a team
- Able to problem solve
- Demonstrate knowledge of the clinical audit process and audit as a part of clinical governance
- Understand the role of NICE guidance in the health service
Desirable criteria
- Experience with complex data analysis and interpretation skills, including the production of written reports
- Experience of reviewing and analyzing national audit reports and implementing action plans
