We are a Level 2 Accredited Finance Department, recognised for delivering high-quality financial services and developing finance professionals. As part of a well-established NHS Trust with a strong track record of financial management and staff development, we are proud to offer a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can thrive and progress their careers.

This role is ideal for an ambitious individual who is looking to build a successful career in finance and is keen to undertake a professional accountancy qualification. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you will gain valuable exposure to management accounting, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering within a complex and rewarding healthcare environment.

The role offers excellent opportunities to develop both technical and interpersonal skills, with support provided to help you achieve your professional and career aspirations.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, analytical, organised, and eager to learn. You should have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and be comfortable working with financial information and stakeholders at all levels.

In return, you will join a friendly, supportive, and high-performing team with a proven record of helping colleagues develop into qualified accountants and senior finance professionals.

Main duties of the job

You will support budget holders and senior managers in understanding financial performance, providing meaningful analysis and helping inform decision-making across the organisation.

•    To provide a comprehensive management accounting service to designated Clinical and Corporate Divisions within the Trust. They will support budget holders and operational managers by delivering high-quality financial information, analysis, advice and challenge to support effective decision making.

•    The post holder will be responsible for the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, management accounts and financial performance reports, ensuring that financial information is accurate, timely and supports the achievement of the Trust's financial objectives.

•    The role will involve working closely with clinicians, service managers and budget holders to improve financial understanding, identify risks and opportunities, support Cost Improvement Programmes (CIPs) and ensure robust financial management throughout the organisation.
