We’re offering a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly and forward-thinking HR Team at Royal Surrey as an Apprentice HR Support Officer — ideal for someone ready to learn, grow, and become a trusted member of the workforce.

This is an 18 month fixed term role, and you will rotate every 6 months between:

  • Temporary Staffing- managing and supporting our bank and agency staff Bank Recruitment - recruiting and onboarding bank staff to cover short term gaps in service
  • Medical Workforce- recruiting and supporting our doctors at all levels

Main duties of the job

What You’ll Be Doing

•    Be the friendly first point of contact for managers and staff seeking HR support
•    Assist with recruitment, onboarding, interviews, and job evaluation coordination
•    Support day-to-day HR activities — from inbox management to policy advice and tracking HR metrics
•    Help organise meetings, record data, and keep our systems up to date
•    Take part in workforce planning projects and contribute to meaningful organisational change
•    Gain exposure to medical workforce administration and talent development

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience/qualification
Desirable criteria
  • CIPD Level 3 (or studying towards)

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of office systems gained through working in a large/complex organisation
  • Good working knowledge of IT systems and packages including MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
