Job overview

Applicants must have full registration with the General Medical Council, and completed their ST3 competences in appropriate training posts and have competencies to work at Registrar level. Experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology is essential. The post is suitable for candidates who are considering O&G as a career progression and entering CESR training route.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work as part of the team, rotating between consultants to allow for a wider experience. Whilst the needs of the service are paramount, individual training needs are taken into account and training needs accommodated when possible.

Although this is not a training post, applicants will be encouraged to gain postgraduate qualifications in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including ATSM training. Continuing professional development is encouraged. The post is also suitable for candidates wishing to complete their specialist training via CESR route working with appropriate Consultant ATSM supervisor at the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Guildford. Support in studying will be given to appropriate appointees.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post is full time post working in a general obstetrics and gynaecology, participating in the

middle grade rota. This post is for a fixed term Trust Doctor Post in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at ST4-ST7 level and the post holder will be working alongside the existing Obstetrics & Gynaecology medical staff.

  • Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Desirable criteria
  • MRCOG part 1
