Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our Cardiac and Respiratory Team (CResT), as a specialist physiotherapist. The clinical caseload will include respiratory physiotherapy outpatients, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
You should have:
• Excellent communication and team working skills
• Completed core junior rotations including respiratory medicine.
• HPC and CSP registration
• NHS experience
We actively encourage continuing professional development through clinical supervision and a comprehensive in-service training programme. You will be well supported by an experienced team of lead respiratory physiotherapists. You will have the opportunity to develop your senior skills with supervision of juniors and students and involvement in audit and service development.
The physiotherapy department is committed to providing excellent patient care across seven days. You will also contribute to the emergency respiratory on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
To provide physiotherapy to relevant patients within clinical specialty area, in a range of settings including inpatients, outpatients and patient homes.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To assess and treat patient’s referred into CREST for either respiratory or cardiac physiotherapy needs. To support the team in the organisation and provision of an efficient, high quality and co-ordinated physiotherapy service for patients in each area. To undertake a defined clinical caseload. To ensure that patient and service standards and priorities are met. To provide clinical supervision to assigned junior physiotherapists, technical instructors, physiotherapy assistants and students.

Essential criteria
- HCPC registration
- BSc Physiotherapy
Desirable criteria
- Member of CSP
- Member of Specific interest group
- Post graduate qualifications in Respiratory/Cardiac Physiotherapy
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Previous Acute NHS experience at Band 5 level
- Achieved core skills in all core Junior rotations, including respiratory
- Evidence to support knowledge base in respiratory/cardiac
Desirable criteria
- Previous Senior Experience in Respiratory/Cardiac
