Job overview
We are looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic and motivated person to help lead our ultrasound booking team as well as perform the deputy role for our Support Services Lead
The role will involve a variety of administrative and receptionist duties which support the daily patient flow and operations of this busy department. They would also act at the point of contact for any tasks required of them should the Support Services Manager be away.
To be considered for this role previous experience in a customer service role is highly desirable.
This position will require excellent communication skills to greet direct and assist customers in the department. You will require sufficient IT skills to access and enter data onto the Radiology information system and to book appointments. Training will be provided.
Experience in administrative procedures would be advantageous.
This position is fixed term until the end of March 2026.

Main duties of the job
To post holder will be a senior member of the administration and clerical team supporting Radiology in delivering a quality appointment service for patients, ensuring that the Trust is able to meet its service deliverables and national operational targets. The post holder will be responsible for the administrative assistants within the team and will take a lead role of the office when the Support Services Lead is not on site.

To perform as a senior Booking Co-ordinator ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the Radiology appointments office; making and rescheduling appointments for patients according to available scanning capacity, dealing efficiently with all enquiries from staff, referring practitioners, patients and other health service organisations, ensuring full utilisation of all available appointment slots and liaising with key internal stakeholders to raise concerns when patients cannot be booked an appointment within a timely manner. The post holder should have the ability to manage and prioritise their workload whilst being able to work under pressure, and have the ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
