Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Radiotherapy Bookings Manager.
The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the Radiotherapy Bookings team ensuring the provision of:
- an efficient and effective service and that the patient pathway is correctly navigated and working effectively
- high quality, patient-focused service and facilitate regular multi-team projects
The post holder will require excellent communication and organisational skills. They will be expected to liaise directly with patients and carer’s as well as a number of different professions, both within and external to the trust which will include Medical staff, Radiographers, Physics and Operational management.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Radiotherapy Administration Manager and Radiotherapy Business Manager to ensure the strategic vision of the department and performance KPI’s are met at an operational level.
The successful candidate will need to be willing to learn and accept challenges and change, able to work in a team and be flexible with regard to cross cover and working hours. You will contribute to maintaining our high standards of patient care, communication, privacy and a safe environment in compliance with the Trust policies and procedures. The Post holder will be rota’d to work mainly at Royal Surrey County Hospital but may be asked to travel between there and our East Surrey Hospital site.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of this role is to support radiotherapy operations by managing the team, which undertakes the Radiotherapy appointment bookings to the highest professional standards, working with Medical, Radiographic, Medical Physics and other Administrative colleagues.
To ensure that the patient pathway is correctly navigated and working effectively, supporting the provision of a high quality, patient-focused service and facilitate regular multi-team projects and ensure performance is monitored and reported.

The Radiotherapy Bookings Manager will operationally manage the bookings team within the Radiotherapy Department. They will work closely with the Radiotherapy Business Manager to ensure that the strategic business unit service meets and achieves national performance indicators i.e. cancer waiting times, all quality, activity and financial targets and indicators.
To participate in project groups, providing project support and co-ordination and contributing to help shape the future administration pathways within the department and development of service.
The post holder will be collaboratively work with the Radiotherapy Administration Manager to ensure the effective operation of the Radiotherapy Administration team (bookings and admin) and is responsible for the strategic running of administration services.
The post holder will be required to cross cover for periods of absence (such as annual leave or sickness) for the Radiotherapy Administration Manager.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly; by supporting the needs of the service and be aware that the radiotherapy service is open from 8 am until 7 pm, with the booking team being available from 8 am – 5 pm. They will be aware that occasional work outside of these times and during weekends or public holidays will be required.
The role includes attendance at both the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and the East Surrey Hospital in Redhill.
Previous administrative experience would be an advantage but is not essential as comprehensive Trust and local induction/training is available.

- Knowledge of a full range of administrative procedures acquired through training or demonstrable relevant experience to degree level or equivalent.
