Job overview

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrator to support the Adult Eating Disorders Team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the service. Working closely with clinical staff and service users, you will manage appointment scheduling, maintain accurate records, handle correspondence, and support the coordination of multidisciplinary meetings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a sensitive and confidential environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care for individuals experiencing eating disorders.

Main duties of the job

To provide office administration duties for Adult Eating Disorders Service (AEDS) including face to face contact with the public, families, carers and other agencies, receiving and dealing with all telephone enquiries. To be a core member of the Administration team supporting a multi-disciplinary and agency environment, promoting a ‘total care’ philosophy to those who require assessment and/or support.

  • NVQ Level 4 in Business Admin or equivalent experience (4 years)

Experience

  • 4 years’ experience of clerical and administrative work requiring a high degree of accuracy and working in accordance with policies/procedures
  • Use of Microsoft Office or equivalent
  • Use of database entry
  • Be a good communicator and have proven excellent customer care skills
  • Working as part of a team as well as under own initiative
  • Communicating complex & highly sensitive information to other professional groups
  • Prioritising workload
Desirable criteria
  • Working within an NHS setting
  • Taking minutes at Team and other meetings as required
