We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Trust-wide Adult Eating Disorders Service (AEDS). we have lots of exciting devleopmnets ahead.
Position Details:
- Location: Based within ourAdult Eating disorder service at Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford, and our HQ in Leatherhead
Career Development: We are committed to supporting your growth and development, we have a comprehensive MDT AEDS academic programme and inhouse occupational therapy CPD programme. We support AHP preceptorship, student placemnets and hold an Annual AHP conference.
Team Environment: You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to pioneering innovative approaches to meet the occupational needs of our service users, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Main duties of the job
To provide high quality and evidence based occupational therapy assessment and interventions, both group and individual, to people who access AEDS services and their carers/supporters/family members, in line with the occupational therapy pathways.
To communicate effectively with people who access services, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and when appropriate outside agencies. To contribute to the generic functioning of the team. To provide supervision and mentoring to more junior occupational therapists, occupational therapy apprenticeships, support workers and activities coordinators (as appropriate)
To provide occupational therapy student placements.
To contribute to service development and audits.

- Completion of a Fieldwork Educators Course
Experience

- Relevant post qualification clinical experience with people who have complex needs
- Experience of using multiple occupational frames of reference and approaches
- Experience of using relevant occupational therapy assessment and implementing interventions
- Experience in applying knowledge of the impact of health and disability on occupational performance, participation and identity
- Evidence of an interest and skills in this specialist area
- Evidence of clinical reasoning
Desirable criteria
- Experience of treating eating disorders
- Experinece of contributing to a service development project
- Experience as a supervisor
- Experinece of supporting students on placement
