Are you ready to advance your career in a senior leadership role as an Occupational Therapist?
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join us as the Trust Wide Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy. This developmental role starts at Band 8a, with the potential to progress to Band 8b.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise in Mental Health and Learning Disabilities: Utilise your experience to ensure the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services across all directorates.
- Leadership and Strategic Development: Enhance your leadership and strategic thinking skills by providing clinical expertise and overseeing the occupational therapy workforce.
- Governance and Safety: Implement and maintain governance structures to ensure safe, effective, and efficient practice for all occupational therapists.
- Collaborative Service Delivery: Work closely with the AHP Professional Lead to deliver exceptional services across Communities, Hospitals, Specialist Services, Learning Disabilities, and Children and Young People's Services.

- has experinece in mental health and /or learning disabilities
- has a passion for ensuring the delivery of high quality occupational therapy services and who enjoys managing and supporting people to achieve their potential.
- who is committed to improving services and maintaining staff well-being.
- can think strategically and deliver services in line with the national and local agenda.
- is able to oversee transformation work and deliver on complex service development/projects.
- is able to take a collective leadership approach, engaging key stalker holders and ensuring that people who use services and their carers/family are at the heart of everything that we do.
- who is able to provide professional supervision to the lead and highly specialist occupational therapist across the organisation, along with supervision for occupational therapists within services that do not have a lead occupational therapist attached to them

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the leading provider of health and social care services for people of all ages with mental ill-health and learning disabilities in Surrey and North East Hampshire. We also provide social care services for people with a learning disability in Croydon and ASD and ADHD assessment services in Hampshire.

Essential criteria
- • Professional clinical qualification (BSc or above)
- • Masters or equivalent level experience
- • Leadership training
- • Clinical supervision training
- Ability to travel across the trust
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Extensive post-qualification experience of working as a clinician in a wide variety of clinical settings including specifically Mental health and/or learning disabilities
- • Experience of providing leadership within healthcare settings
- • Highly developed specialist and advanced knowledge of Occupational Therapy
- • Experience of supervising staff, appraisals and addressing performance management issues
- • Experience of being involved service transformation and service development
- • Experience of delivering highly specialist evidence based and outcome measured interventions across a range of services
- • Experience of audits and research to improve practice
- • Experience of delivering a range CPD opportunities to the professional group
- • Experience of partnership working across organisations
- • Highly effective and advanced communications skills
- • Competent in the use of MS Office
