Assistant Cancer Performance Manager

The Assistant Cancer Performance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality cancer services across the Trust by supporting the implementation of the NHS Cancer Action Plan. This post is responsible for the operational management and leadership of the Cancer Information team, including MDT Coordinators, Cancer Pathway Trackers, Pathway Navigators and the Cancer Booking Team.

The post holder will work closely with the Cancer Performance Manager to monitor and improve cancer pathway performance, contributing to meeting national Cancer Waiting Times (CWT) standards and driving continuous service improvement. In addition to providing day-to-day line management, the role includes responsibility for developing and maintaining robust administrative and data quality processes, implementing standard operating procedures, and ensuring that staff are appropriately trained and supported.

A key function of the role is to deputise for the Cancer Performance Manager, representing the service at internal and external meetings, supporting strategic decision-making, and contributing to service planning and development. The post holder is expected to act with autonomy, use sound judgement in managing complex and sensitive issues, and demonstrate leadership in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
