Senior Nurse - Diagnostic Imaging

NHS AfC: Band 7

Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior nurse to join our highly skilled and motivated team in providing excellent care, whilst caring for patients undergoing interventional procedures and recovering within the department.

The unique and varied nature of the specialty means there is always something new and interesting to learn as new procedures are developed and undertaken. We provide high quality patient focused care to outpatients and inpatients. So if you are dynamic and motivated, have excellent communication skills, experience in an acute setting, and would like a new challenge then this is the team for you! There are varied shifts worked with core hours between 08:00 and 19.00 Monday to Friday. However work patterns may change in the future as the service requirements change.

The applicant is expected to be able to work across site within the Diagnostic Imaging Departments as necessary. Lead aprons are worn for several hours at a time for certain procedures and there is a certain amount of manual handling of patients, beds and trolleys.

Main duties of the job

For further information, please see the attached trust job description and person specification for a full list of duties and responsibilities.

Working for our organisation

We provide acute and complex services and a range of outpatient, diagnostic services whilst Crawley Hospital and Horsham in West Sussex and Caterham Dene Hospital and Oxted Health Centre in Surrey provide less complex planned services. In 2019 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated our services as ‘Outstanding’ and we are one of the best performing Trusts in England:

  • Winners of Health Service Journal Acute Trust of the year award 2021.
  • National Patient Safety Awards winner and strive to be a beacon for safety in all that we do.
