About us

  • We’re a major local employer, with a diverse workforce of c5,000 providing healthcare services to a growing population of around 535,000.
  • We provide emergency and non-emergency services to the residents of East Surrey, North-East West Sussex, and South Croydon, including the major towns of Crawley, Horsham, Reigate and Redhill.

The post holder will be an expert practitioner in relation to fetal wellbeing and surveillance, keen to drive continuous improvement and safety across the maternity continuum of care.

The post holder will be required to perform and continuously develop their skills as follows:

  1. Clinical Practice – demonstrating expert clinical knowledge and collaborative decision-making in fetal monitoring across all maternity care settings and maintaining own clinical and professional development
  2. Leadership and Management – a valued member of the SASH multi-disciplinary and multi-professional team. Lead in the development of new service improvements, relationship building and role modelling excellence in safety and quality of care provision inspiring confidence in the team and families.
  3. Education, training and professional development – be an integral member of the maternity education team in the identification and dissemination of learning and education to maximise the potential for SASH team to provide expert care in fetal monitoring, planning and facilitating training.
  4. Research, audit and evaluation and governance – to continuously evaluate fetal monitoring and surveillance across all areas of SaSH to inform ongoing service development and identify gaps in knowledge and provision. Be responsible and accountable for reporting requirements, safety investigations and actions associated with fetal monitoring and surveillance in line with SBCBv3, MIS and NHSE.
