Hospital Play Assistant

NHS AfC: Band 3

Job overview

As a vital member of the multi-professional team the play specialists contribute to the provision of high standards of patient care by organising and supervising therapeutic play for children before and during their hospital stay. Our Play Specialists create warm, caring and safe environments for children and their families and continually look for and initiate ways to improve children's experiences of healthcare.
Play Specialists provide important support to healthcare colleagues by ensuring children and young people have access to age and developmentally appropriate play preparation for procedures, distraction and access to play opportunities during their stay in hospital.

This is a developmental role and once you have received your HPSET you will have the opportunity to progress into a Band 4 position.
