Job overview

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join our Bank with the phlebotomy team at East Surrey Hospital. The successful candidates will work as part of a team collecting blood samples from both In and Out patients. 

You will be expected to have good communication skills and have a caring and compassionate nature. A nursing or similar healthcare / carer background would be an advantage.


Experience is preferable but not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate.

Main Duties are;

To assist in the provision of an effective phlebotomy service with other members of the phlebotomy team

To take blood samples by venepuncture or capillary, using the standard techniques approved by the Pathology Department

To assist in the provision of phlebotomy training and mentoring as and when requested.

You may also be required to work at Crawley Hospital on an as and when basis.

The period of initial training or assessment of skills will take place at Crawley Hospital.
