An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced radiographer who is interested in providing structured support  for radiographers who are new to radiography or who may not have worked after qualification within the NHS.

 The candidate’s key role will be to ensure the best possible start for newly qualified or trainee radiographers; providing backing and guidance during their transition from basic radiographer or new recruit to confident, capable autonomous professionals who are able to work safely and efficiently in the department.

Key responsibilities will be to develop and maintain a progressive, professional learning environment within the Diagnostic Imaging department.

Additionally, monitoring and coordinating the progress of staff who are new to the service. 

Later the Preceptor can work to identify, develop and assist with the assessment of core competencies for radiographers whilst promoting to inter-professional learning activities within the Diagnostic Imaging department and Trust wide.

We are keen to appoint a dynamic, highly motivated radiographer who is passionate about ensuring junior radiographers are empowered to deliver a safe, first-class experience to our patients.

The most significant part of the work will be clinical; supporting and training others in addition to robust record keeping and identifying learning needs. The successful candidate will have responsibility for promoting the Radiation safety principles in the clinical area. The applicant must be confident in working in a multi- disciplinary setting.
