Job overview

Main duties and key responsibilities

Follow Trust’s waste policies.
Collection of clinical, offensive, sharps, domestic, recyclable, confidential, WEEE, battery, toner and food waste from wards and departments.
 Ensure all waste is segregated into the appropriate areas within the waste compounds.
Movement and cleaning of commercial sized waste bins
Maintain communication links to the Line Manger and other members of the Estates team at all times.
 Maintain any equipment required for the duties to a required standard.
 Maintain cleanliness of the waste compound areas with routine waste collection ensuring safe disposal of all waste products.
Report any issues of concern throughout the Trust relating to Health and Safety.
Respond to and perform tasks in the time allocated and carry out in a professional manner.
Wear the correct and clean uniform when on duty, and adhere to personal hygiene regulations. 

Ensure that the Trust’s and Departmental procedures are maintained and that policies are adhered to.
Attend training courses as directed.
Attend and contribute at Departmental meetings as appropriate.
