Specialist Clinical Fellow - Neurology

We are seeking a Specialist Clinical Fellow in Neurology to join the team at Wexham Park Hospital (WPH). The successful candidate will support the delivery of high‑quality care to both ward and outpatient neurology patients, working closely with and receiving training from our Consultant Neurologists.
For candidates with the appropriate experience, there is the opportunity to attend Grand Rounds at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) or St George’s Hospital, either in person or remotely.
This is a 12‑month post, with the possibility of extension.

The post‑holder will work under the supervision of the Consultant Neurologists and will contribute to the care of both inpatient and outpatient neurology patients. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, assessing patients in the Emergency Department and other hospital areas as required, and attending consultant‑led outpatient clinics.
Candidates with a special interest in Epilepsy or Multiple Sclerosis will have opportunities to attend relevant MDTs and specialist clinics. The post‑holder will also participate in departmental audits, research activities, and the monthly Division of Medicine meeting, which includes audit review.

- Opportunity to rotate through specialist areas including MS and demyelinating disease, Epilepsy/EEG, and Headache.
- Participation in weekly neuroradiology meetings with full imaging support (ultrasound, CT, MRI).
- Access to comprehensive neurophysiology services with onsite EEG and consultant‑led EMG.
- Involvement in monthly cross‑site MS MDTs and twice‑monthly local MDTs with neuroradiology and MS nursing teams.
- Provide specialist neurology input to inpatient teams (no dedicated neurology beds on site).

- • MBBCH or equivalent.
- • Full MRCP (PACES) or equivalent
- • Full GMC at the time of application.

- • Additional relevant Higher Degree (Masters or Doctorate)
Experience

- • Two years in CT level Acute General Medicine with experience of Acute on Call
- • Minimum one year NHS experience
- • At least two years’ experience post completion of 2-year Foundation training programme.

- • Writing experience: clinical and/or non-clinical topics peer-reviewed publications and/or other communication (e.g. blog, letters to journals)
