Band 5

Job overview

At Frimley NHS Foundation Trust, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and organised individual to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Obs & Gynae) directorate as a Patient Pathway Co-ordinator. This pivotal role requires a proactive, competent individual who is passionate about providing exceptional administrative support within a fast-paced clinical environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and coordinating patient pathways, ensuring that patients receive seamless care from referral to treatment.

In addition to overseeing patient flow, the Patient Pathway Co-ordinator will take responsibility for line managing the Clinical Admin Teams, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment. You will be instrumental in improving operational efficiencies, addressing patient queries, and ensuring that all administrative tasks are carried out to the highest standards, in line with NHS policies and procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous NHS administrative experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a strong focus on patient care. You will be expected to contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the administrative services provided by the Obs & Gynae directorate.

Main duties of the job

Coordinating Patient Pathways: Ensure efficient management of patient journeys from referral to treatment, ensuring all appointments, tests, and procedures are scheduled accurately and in a timely manner.

Communication and Liaison: Serve as a central point of contact for patients, clinical staff, and external organisations, ensuring clear and effective communication at all times. Address patient queries, resolve issues, and provide information as needed.

Operational Support: Ensure that all administrative systems and processes are efficient, including data entry, record keeping, and reporting. Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with NHS guidelines.

Supporting Service Improvement: Work alongside the clinical team to identify opportunities for improvement in patient pathway processes and help implement solutions that enhance patient experience and operational efficiency.

Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all administrative practices adhere to NHS policies and standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and data protection regulations are strictly followed.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring smooth integration of administrative services with clinical care and supporting a patient-centred approach to service delivery.
