Rotational Pharmacist

Band 6-7 progression post

Trosolwg o'r swydd

Are you a pre-registration pharmacist about to qualify? Perhaps a qualified pharmacist looking for a career change? Or even a band 6 pharmacist looking for a band 7 opportunity?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed pharmacist to join our Wexham Park Hospital Clinical Pharmacy team.

We have a structured training programme that allows you to rotate through a variety of specialities such as Aseptics which includes haematology and oncology, Critical Care, Medicine (Acute Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Frailty, Gastroenterology and Respiratory), Medicines Information, Paediatrics and Surgery (Colorectal, ENT and Orthopaedics). We also provide training opportunities in anticoagulation, antimicrobial stewardship, education and training, medicines safety and palliative care.

This rotational post will include both the diploma and independent prescribing qualification, under guidance from the education and training team. Progression from a band 6 to a band 7 post is automatic once relevant milestones have been achieved.

The successful candidate will have the patient at the centre of all they do, possess strong communication skills, and work well as part of a multidisciplinary team. They will need to be organised, well-motivated and have excellent people skills, as well as the ability to use initiative and adapt quickly to new situations.

The Frimley Health Foundation Trust (FHFT) pharmacy team consists of approximately 200 members of staff across its three main sites.

Wexham Park Hospital pharmacy team is a diverse, warm, and welcoming team with a highly supportive and developmental culture, providing excellent patient care to all service users.

Successful candidates will have the exciting opportunity to work as part of our dynamic pharmacy team to provide dispensary and clinical pharmacy services to various clinical speciality wards and specialist services at Wexham Park Hospital, and to various affiliated organisations.

They will undertake an academic diploma with independent prescribing and have the opportunity to use these skills once they qualify.

The post holder will work on the Wexham Park Hospital site but will be required to travel to other sites as required, including Heatherwood Hospital.  The post will also involve emergency duty commitment and extended hours working. Although bank holiday, late night, weekend, and a non-residential on-call service provision are expected, these are conducted with a healthy work life balance and fully supported by the pharmacy team.
