  • Frimley Health is expanding its pharmacy workforce to meet the growing demand for cancer services, offering an exciting opportunity for motivated pharmacists to specialise in oncology and haematology.
  • This post provides a structured development pathway from Band 7 to Band 8a, with comprehensive training to become an accredited cancer pharmacist, including validation to release chemotherapy and monoclonal antibodies from our on-site aseptic unit.
  • Based at Wexham Park Hospital, the successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care across Frimley Health’s oncology and haematology services.
  • The Trust provides inpatient and outpatient cancer care to patients across Surrey, East Berkshire, and South Buckinghamshire.
  • The role includes providing specialist clinical pharmacy services to haematology day units, haematology clinics, oncology wards, and supporting clinical trials, as well as undertaking final checks within aseptic services.
  • We are dedicated to professional development and will support you through close collaboration with our clinical pharmacy, education, and training teams.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • The role involves delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services within haematology, oncology, and aseptic services.
  • The post holder will support the provision of pharmaceutical care to haematology and oncology inpatients and outpatients, working closely with the multidisciplinary team across wards, clinics, and day units.
  • Responsibilities include contributing to safe and effective medicines use, supporting clinical trials, and assisting in the preparation and release of chemotherapy and monoclonal antibodies within the aseptic unit.
  • The successful candidate will hold a clinical pharmacy diploma (or equivalent) and demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development within cancer services.
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience with clinical pharmacy practice is essential, and experience in haematology or oncology is desirable but not mandatory.

  • Act as a specialist clinical pharmacist in cancer services, providing expert clinical support for the safe and effective delivery of chemotherapy prescriptions following completion of competency-based assessments.
  • Support the wider pharmacy team by offering technical and professional guidance on all aspects of aseptic preparation of pharmaceutical products within the Trust, including oversight of appropriately outsourced aseptic products.
  • Contribute to the operation and development of the aseptic unit in line with the NHS Long Term Plan ambitions for cancer care, ensuring high standards of quality and patient safety.
  • Implement Trust policies and national guidance related to the pharmaceutical care of haematology and oncology patients, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise treatment outcomes.
