Are you an experienced supervisor who thrives in a team environment and takes initiative?
We are seeking a motivated and proactive Chargehand Porter to join our Portering Services at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

In this key role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the portering team, ensuring high standards of service are maintained across the hospital. You will play an important part in supporting the delivery of a safe, secure and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Important Information:

  • Due to restrictions on the issue of Tier 2 Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS), this post is unlikely to be suitable for candidates requiring visa sponsorship.

  • Non-EEA candidates can only be considered if no suitably qualified and experienced UK or EEA candidate is available, in line with the Resident Labour Market Test.

  • Applicants will be required to complete a basic English and Maths skills test prior to the interview. Only those who pass will progress to the interview stage.

Main duties of the job

  • Act as first-line supervisor, taking full responsibility for overseeing the portering team.

  • Provide cover for the Assistant Hotel Services Manager or their deputy as required, including attending meetings.

  • Serve as a departmental ambassador, promoting professionalism and excellent service.

  • Manage patient flow using the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system.

  • Carry out general portering duties and respond effectively to emergency situations.

  • Ensure team performance meets service expectations and standards

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.

    • A team player who can also work independently and show initiative.

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Competence with IT systems.

    • Flexible, reliable, and punctual.

    • Willingness to work on a rota basis, including weekends.
